Royal Artillery Band recruits the next generation...

Posted 27/02/15

The Royal Artillery Band has had a very busy couple of years with many concert’s and commemorations to attend.   This week it threw open its doors to budding musicians from around the country.

These young people then took part in a day of musical activities designed to give them an insight in to life as an Army Musician. The day started with rehearsals in the band room where they played with Army mentor musicians under the direction of Sgt Keith Benham. They were able to hear first-hand from soldiers who shared their experience of life in the Corps of Army Music.

Though heavy rain prevented the teenagers from getting out on the parade square, their time was well spent playing a variety of music and styles ranging from show songs to traditional military marches.
