'The Gunners' take on Pru Ride London on behalf of the DNRC

Posted 15/06/17

Pru Ride London and the DNRC

Team DNRC’ will be the largest group of riders in the Pru Ride 100, which takes place on Sunday 30 July and covers a route from central London out to the Surrey Hills and back.  It passes very close to Headley Court.

There are approximately 150 riders in Team DNRC including more than 20 Gunners from the Royal Artillery. The Gunner team is a real mix of abilities with riders recovering from injury, some taking on their very first century ride and not forgetting the Army Road Race Champions who will 'smash it' in just over 4 hours.

In addition to Gunners, Team DNRC includes supporters from right across the spectrum, including riders from Interserve Construction Ltd (ICL), the main contractor building the Defence facility, through to the architect and a whole host of other suppliers, supporters and well-wishers.

The team has come together through a shared passion to make the DNRC happen and help raise the money required to reach the target and complete the build (ie the £40m).

DNRC - What’s this all about?

We are building what is likely to be one of the world's best clinical rehabilitation centres for the armed forces and the nation on a site in the Midlands.

It’s a significant national project and, as the DNRC charity looks to involve the public in helping to make it happen, it’s something we would welcome everyone in the country being able to take part in.

‘Seeing is believing’  www.thednrc.org.uk/seeing-is-believing/seeing.aspx and www.thednrc.org.uk/seeing-is-believing/believing.aspx  to understand the origin of the DNRC programme, what it will do and everything that is now happening to make it a reality.

People can donate to the DNRC via the website at www.thednrc.org.uk  or by sending a cheque made payable to “The DNRC” to DNRC, PO Box 76, Rotherham, S63 9XY.  People can also give just £5 by texting ‘DNRC’ to 70080
