Jude Baines raises over £1000 for the RA Charitable Fund

Posted 29/05/15

Jude Baines has raised over £1000 for the RA Charitable Fund by running the London Marathon.

Jude completed the iconic route in just over 5 hours with a smile on her face.

This is an epic challenge and we at the Royal Artillery Charitable Fund would like to thank you Jude for your efforts and be rest assured that these funds go to a very worthy cause.

Jude is a good friend of Mr Jim Delahunty, an honorary mess member of 5th Regt Royal Artillery.  Jude has raised money at various events by colllecting (collecting at retail parks, sponsored runs and parachute jumps etc) for various military charities, including the RA Charitable Fund.   Jude  has no military ties herself,  but has collected many times for 5th  Regt RA and through getting to know them saw what great work they do and how the money raised can help both serving and retired Gunners everywhere.

This is the not the first time that Jude has taken on a new challenge in her quest to raise money for us.  Jude took part in a sponsored sky dive which again, raised some much needed funds for the RA Charitable Fund.  Jude and Jim’s partner Jane took part in a parachute jump at Netherhaven Camp on 2013 for 5th Regt to help raise money for their memorial.  However, the jumps kept getting cancelled due to weather etc.  When eventually they did jump the memorial had been built so the raised funds went towards the 5th Regts total that year for RA Charitable Fund.
