Ex-Gunner and local Tenby man Jeff Thornton has been influential in the restoration of the Gates at Tenby Memorial Garden.  After several years of neglect, Jeff contacted the local council with a plan to have the gates restored to their former glory.  Jeff says “  It has taken a long while for the badges and gates to be completed. Originally, only the badges were going to be renewed by Tenby C.C. but then Pembrokeshire C.C. who claimed ownership of the War Memorial came along and (using part of a grant for the 100 year celebrations of the Great War) decided to renew the gates and arch”.  The badges on the gates represent the units which supported the RSA Manorbier.
