My father served as a Lance Sergeant in 92nd from Invasion of Italy at Tarranto He had joined TA in 1936 and did training at Okehampton, and was then with 113th Regt. After El Alamein, he was bitten by a scorpion it went septic, and he went to Alexandria hosp, the Invasion of Sicily had started, so he rejoined with 92nd Field Black Cats, was at Rapido river crossing, and Anzio beachead. His memory of Anzio, was that it was the worst engagement the Regt were in. Fathers name Leonard White (Chalky)after fall of Rome Regt was in Operation Dragoon invasion of Marseille, after the Ardennes Regt in Low Countries and at Wars end was on Luneberg Heath, when a  fellow Gunner reported that Belsen Cncentration Camp had been found, the smell could be scented 5 miles away....I served RAF....N/S...email geraldwhite0138@yahoo.co.uk
