Death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

Following the sad news of the death of His Royal Highness, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, members of the Royal Regiment will wish to know that the Master Gunner St James’s Park has written to Her Majesty The Queen, our Captain General and Patron of the Royal Artillery Association, on behalf of all ranks of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, both serving and retired. 

Lieutenant General Sir Andrew Gregory KBE CB DL, Master Gunner St James’s Park has issued the following statement: 

“All in the Royal Regiment of Artillery are greatly saddened to hear of the death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.  Having served with great distinction in the Royal Navy, Prince Philip tirelessly supported the Nation’s Armed Forces throughout his life. 

Our thoughts are with our Captain General, Her Majesty the Queen, and other members of the Royal Family; I speak on behalf of the whole Royal Regiment, serving and retired, in offering our deepest and most heartfelt condolences at this time.”

In line with Army protocol we will not be placing any further regimental or association communications on social media during the period of public mourning.
