Housing Vacancy – Claverton Down , Bath

The Regiment owns four semi-detached cottages, two in Bath and two in Colchester, given to the Regiment by the families of two officers killed in the Boer War.  They are managed by the Royal Artillery Charitable Fund as Alms Houses.

One of the cottages in Bath has become vacant and is available on a ‘licence to occupy’ basis.  The property is situated in Claverton Down on the south-east edge of Bath, Somerset.

The semi-detached house comprises a kitchen / dining room, sitting room, two bedrooms, an upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room.  There is small mature front garden and a larger rear garden.  The house is available rent free but the occupant will pay a contribution towards maintenance and is responsible for the general upkeep of the property.  Full details of the terms and condition of occupancy are available on request. The house is not DDA compliant but reasonable adjustments would be made as required.

Applications are invited from non-commissioned Gunner veterans with a minimum of 5 years’ service and who are unable to work as a result of ill-health or who are in financial need.  Applicants should be in receipt of an Army pension.  Applications will be considered from individuals who are either married, in a permanent partnership or widowed and who have no dependent children.

Anyone who is interested and meets the criteria for occupancy should apply in writing to the Regimental Secretary with a brief background of their circumstances.  Applications or any questions should be sent to  Regimental Secretariat Admin Assistant, Artillery House, RHQRA, Artillery Barracks, Larkhill, Salisbury SP4 8QT or Email: emm.pagan-skelley100@mod.gov.uk Civ Tel: 01980 845895
