On Saturday 5th July, the RA Service of Remembrance was held at the National Memorial Arboretum. The Regimental Headquarters welcomed over 400 members of the Royal Regiment of Artillery; serving, veterans and families.

The day began with the Controller, Chairman of the RAA, Regimental Colonel, and the Royal Artillery Sergeant Major inspecting Royal Artillery Standard Bearers and In-Pensioners of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Following the inspection, The Honorary Chaplain led the commemorative service and at the end of the Service awards were presented to Branch Members who have completed 5, 10 and 15 years service in Committee roles. Towards the end of the Service the Controller presented Mr Frank Milks, Coventry Branch with a well-deserved Certificate of Merit.

Guests then made their way to the RA Memorial Garden for the wreath laying ceremony.

Thank you to the Lancashire Artillery Volunteers Band who performed at the Service and entertained us all on Heroes’ Square.

And a further thank you to everyone who attended this event to make it successful and it was wonderful to see representatives from the King’s Gurkha Artillery, welcome to the Gunner family.
